The challenging, small and oddly shaped site for this new beach house is exquisitely situated on the peninsula with direct access to the beach. Uninterrupted views onto the sea and light house is maximised from the moment the gate on the street is opened with a visual axis through the glass front door. The house is designed as two protective arms to create a wind free central living space. This allows boundaries between internal and external to be removed. All the spaces can be opened to the outside – even on a very windy day. Because of the relatively small site and the single storey height restriction, a semi-basement level was created to house the home theatre/entertainment studio as well as an en-suite bedroom. 3 Bedrooms en-suite, living/dining/kitchen, scullery, pool deck, home theatre/entertainment studio, double garage, store. The house is fully automated and is designed for full wheelchair access on the main floor
